Trilogy Sponsors Oar Mighty Mates 2C in the World’s Toughest Row

At Trilogy, we’re no strangers to adventure, perseverance, and the pursuit of excellence. So, it’s with immense pride and excitement that we announce our sponsorship of Oar Mighty Mates 2C, a remarkable UK-based rowing team taking on the World’s Toughest Row (Atlantic) this December.

This epic race spans 3,000 miles of untamed Atlantic Ocean, starting from the volcanic shores of San Sebastián de La Gomera in Spain and concluding amidst the tropical paradise of Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua. This is a test of grit, determination, and the human spirit against one of nature’s most formidable forces.

The Journey of a Lifetime

The World’s Toughest Row is an endurance event unlike any other. Teams from across the globe gather at the race village in La Gomera, creating a vibrant atmosphere filled with camaraderie and shared determination. Each crew sets off with a singular goal: to row across an ocean in a boat powered only by their strength and resilience.

The Atlantic throws everything it has at the rowers: 20-foot waves, scorching heat, freezing nights, and the relentless grind of physical and mental exhaustion. Sleep deprivation, salt sores, and aching muscles become the norm as participants dig deep to overcome the challenges ahead. But the reward? A life-changing sense of achievement and the creation of bonds forged through shared adversity.

By the time teams reach Antigua, they’ve become part of an elite community - a rare group of individuals who can proudly say they’ve conquered an ocean.

Meet Oar Mighty Mates 2C

The dynamic duo behind Oar Mighty Mates 2C is Andy Purvis and Tim Cox, two rowers driven by passion, adventure, and a desire to make a difference.

Andy Purvis: A lifelong thrill-seeker drawn to the sea and extreme sports, Andy describes the Atlantic Challenge as ticking every box for the ultimate adventure. His journey is deeply personal, dedicated to honouring his late grandfather and mother, both of whom battled dementia.

Tim Cox: Having worked alongside the World’s Toughest Row since 2012, Tim always knew he would one day take on this challenge. When Andy invited him to join the team, the timing was perfect. After losing his father-in-law to dementia last year, Tim is rowing to raise awareness and funds for Dementia UK.

Together, they’re rowing for a cause. Their efforts will support two incredible charities: Dementia UK and Abigail’s Footsteps, an organisation helping families through baby loss.

Why This Matters to Trilogy

Trilogy exists to help individuals realise their dreams, whether they’re starting a yachting career or pushing themselves to their limits in a challenge like the World’s Toughest Row. We’re thrilled to support Andy and Tim, who embody the values of courage, passion, and excellence that we hold dear.

Both rowers completed essential training with Trilogy as part of their preparation for this extraordinary feat. It’s an honour to be part of their journey, and we’ll be cheering them on every step - or stroke - of the way.
